The Prairie Oaks School of Music offers a variety of classes to fit the needs of all aspiring musicians. 

For children ages 3-5 we offer a preparatory music and movement class, Suzuki Jump Start , and private lessons using the World-renowned Suzuki method.  Suzuki lessons include a weekly group class.

For the older student we offer Traditional Lessons.  Included with the cost of lessons is the Creative Musicianship Class, a complementary enrichment class providing students with a greater understanding of how music works and opportunities to create their own music.

Class Descriptions              Private Suzuki Lessons                   (ages 3 and up)                                 PreTwinkler Lessons are for students ages 3-4 who are just beginning an instrument.  Included in the fee is a 20 minute Private lesson and a 30 minute Group class.

Beginner Lessons are for students ages 5 and up who are just beginning an instrument.  Included in the fee is a 30 minute Private lesson and a 30 minute Group Lesson.           

Intermediate Lessons are for students needing a longer lesson.  Included in the fee is a 45 minute Private lesson, a 30 minute Group Lesson, and a 30 minute Creative Musicianship Class.                                    

Advanced Lessons are for mature musical students.  Included is a 60 minute Private lesson, a 45 minute  Ensemble, and a 45 minute Creative Musicianship Class.

Intermediate Lessons are for students who are further in the repetoire and need a 45 minute lesson with a 30 minute creative musicianship class.      

Advanced Lessons are for students who are needing a 60 minute lesson with a 30 minute creative musicianship class.

Enrichment Classes                                                           Suzuki Small Group Classes are for students who aren't ready or can't afford private lessons.  The class will have 4-6 students that will receive individual instruction as well as a group class.  It is an hour long class and is available for violin, viola, cello, and voice.                                                    Suzuki Jump Start is for children ages 3-5 preparing to take Private Suzuki Lessons or students already enrolled and who have not yet mastered the Twinkles.   

NEW! Suzuki Success Seminars are 8 week, hour-long classes for adults to learn about and prepare for success with the Suzuki method of music instruction for their kids.  No obligation to take lessons afterward is required. 

Creative Musicianship Classes are included automatically for middle school and high school aged students enrolled in the POSM and help to develop theory, aural, improvising, and composing skills.  Creative Musicianship Classes are available to students not taking lessons through the POSM as well.                          

Suzuki Group Classes are included automatically for Suzuki students enrolled in the POSM and work on repetoire, technique, as well as new pieces and student compositions.  Suzuki Group Classes are available to students not taking lessons through the POSM as well.
